CAN DARRIN HELP MY SON

My heart and experiences working with young men (15-25) goes back to when I was a Boy Scout and as an officer in the Army.

Over the last 30 years, I have led or participated in hundreds of parent and son activities to help my sons and other young men prepare for life and be aware of the dangers around them.

While in the military, I loved mentoring young soldiers and seeing them when they hit that "Ah-Ha" moment and took another step growing up.

WORKING WITH YOUNG MEN

Today I am coaching young men in both highschool and college.

I gained most of my expertiece in this space as a Scoutmaster for a troop with 150 boys.  I loved coaching and mentoring teen boys and seeing them take ownership of their life and start to reach their potential as young men.

In getting to know each teen as an individual, with unique skills, strengths, and opportunities, I was in a good position to help them grow as young men.

I always looked for any chance to challenge these young guys into becoming the best they can be.

SON, FATHER, MENTOR, COACH

As the father of two grown men, I know and understand the perils they faced while growing up in today's online, highly connected world.

When my sons were born, I could not wait to teach them how to fix things around the house to take them hiking and camping, teach them life lessons, and serve their community.

What I was not ready for is the impact the their digital world would have on them or on me.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Your son wants to become the best they can be.  But sometimes they get stuck.

They want to be known for who they are and respected as an individual.  It's natural and highly encourged that they start to pull away from their parental figures.

My goal is to help each young man find their path and encrouging them to define and take thier next steps.

TO PARENTS / GUARDIANS

While in the military, I loved mentoring young soldiers and seeing them when they hit that "Ah-Ha" moment and took another step growing up.

Yes I understand you can't tell your son anything.

Let me also help you learn to communcate with your son in a laugage he will respond to.

As a parent you need to move away from parenting and into mentoring.  I know it's hard, but I can help you get there.
